The HP Deskjet 6980 is a "down home" printer with an attractive deep blue color. It prints documents, color, and photographs quite well and will satisfy the majority of home and office uses. The HP Deskjet 6980 comes with a sizable 150 sheet input tray, and the output tray will hold 50 sheets. It will print documents at 9.1 pages per minute and photographs at 1.4 per minute. In draft mode it "spits" out pages so fast that it becomes quite noisy. As an interesting "counter touch" the printer has a "Quiet mode" button that will slow the printer down to make it less noisy.

There was one who implemented the HP Deskjet 6980 for an office that stated "...I would not recommend this printer as your primary device (the ink will cost you a premium), it is a great supplemental printer for those, who wish to be able to print an occasional color document or photo." Unfortunately few know that you don't need to limit your photograph printing because of high priced HP printer cartridges. The HP Deskjet 6980 takes the common inkjet cartridges: HP 96 black & HP 97 tri-color (99 with Vivera for photo, and the HP 100 gray speciality.) But you are not limited to the inkjet cartridges HP sells in order to get photo quality printing. Another nice "photo-enabling" feature of the HP Deskjet 6980 is that they do include HP's Photosmart Premier software which is a great photo-editing package. Additionally, this printer can easily be shared as it works with a router in a wireless setup.
